Betty Bailey received her Montessori Certification from the International Association of Progressive Montessorians in 1974 in San Diego. She became a Montessori teacher of children ages 3-6 and then Director of the small Montessori School House in Bay Park. For a brief period of time, she ventured into the printing world, but soon returned to teaching. After the Montessori School House moved into its present location, Ms. Bailey returned to the school to take up her position of pre-school director. She also was the teacher of the NCME-San Diego teacher education center's demonstration classroom for 15 years. With the expansion of the Montessori School House / Maria Montessori Elementary to its present size, Ms. Bailey left the classroom to devote herself to her Director duties full time. She also serves as an Intern Supervisor/Instructor for the Montessori Teachers College of San Diego. Back to Main Page
